December 6, 2012:
Initiatives For China, also known as Citizen Power For China, released a powerful 4 minute film today to call for the release of Liu Xiaobo and to mark the second anniversary of his Nobel Peace Prize Award. “This hard hitting film reminds us very clearly of how terrible the situation is for Liu Xiaobo and for human rights all over China,” said Mr. Yang Jianli, President of Citizen Power for China.
Upon the film’s release, Mr. Han Lianchao, Vice President of Citizen Power for China, said  “We hope people in China and all over the world will help us to spread this film and the story of Liu Xiaobo and his wife, Liu Xia. We need to remember them and all those like them whose only crimes were to speak out and to call for democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of worship, and other fundamental human rights within China.”
Mr. Yang Jianli added, “China desperately needs Liu Xiaobo and his ideas, and we look forward to the day when he can claim his Nobel Peace Prize and continue his work for peaceful change and reform.”
