Prague, Nov 24 (CTK) – The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will visit Prague in December after two years, again at the invitation of his friend and former Czech president Vaclav Havel and the Forum 2000 Foundation, the foundation told CTK Thursday.
The Dalai Lama visited the Czech Republic several times in the past. Most recently he attended a Prague conference on democracy in Asia two years ago.
The Dalai Lama’s meetings with foreign politicians displeases China of which Tibet is a part.
Human rights promoters criticise Beijing and speak about the Chinese occupation of Tibet.
The Dalai Lama will arrive for a three-day Czech visit on December 10, the Human Rights Day. His Czech schedule includes a debate at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts, that will be also attended by Havel, Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi, leading Chinese dissident Yang Jianli and Stephane Hessel, co-author of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Dalai Lama will also give a public lecture on the search of happiness in the uncertain world in Prague’s Congress Centre.
